Advances in industrial connectivity solutions for automated environments

LAPP is developing new connectivity solutions for intralogistics systems used in automated environments, with a focus on efficiency and reliability.

A backdrop of rapid transformation in intralogistics systems sets the context for LAPP’s expansion into connectivity solutions for automated environments. Their latest product range includes several new developments.

LAPP introduces hybrid cables, robotic solutions, and plug-and-play systems intended to support the operation of automated facilities. Their hybrid cabling solutions combine power and data transmission, and they have developed cables for robotic applications designed to support industrial use cases.

The ÖLFLEX range includes the introduction of the ÖLFLEX ROBOT series, designed for 3D movement in automation environments. These PVC cables are designed for flexibility and torsion resistance for robotics applications. Variants such as 909 and 909 D are specified for up to two million bending and torsion cycles and are intended for use in environments with high electromagnetic interference. The ÖLFLEX SERVO FD 797 CP cable is also included in the range and is designed for applications involving mechanical stress and simplified cable preparation.

Signal transmission and compact connectivity are supported by the EPIC ClickConnect M12A PVC cable. It is designed for flexible signal transmission in environments with vibration. The push-pull locking M12 connectors are used for applications involving moving machine components where durable connections are required.

The EPIC series also includes rectangular connector kits designed for installation in limited spaces. These additions, along with expanded network solutions for industrial applications, form part of LAPP’s connectivity portfolio.

The ETHERLINE ACCESS U Entry Level switches expand its industrial Ethernet offerings. These are available in 5- and 8-port configurations and are fanless, supporting low-noise operation in industrial environments.

Overall, these connectivity solutions form part of LAPP’s industrial portfolio for intralogistics applications. The systems are designed to support power and data transmission across industrial operations. The approach focuses on providing integrated product systems intended to simplify installation and reduce start-up complexity in automated environments.
