Virtuoso reaffirms commitment to best practice with certification against the Code of Practice

IT consultancy achieves CIF recertification.

APM Group, the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) independent Certification partner, has announced that IT consultancy, Virtuoso, has successfully recertified against the CIF Code of Practice. Having originally certified in early 2013, the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) has cemented trust amongst partners and end users, with its commitment to best practice in transparency, accountability, and capability in cloud service delivery.

With customers ranging from FTSE 100 companies to SMEs and public sector organisations, the innovative IT consultancy provides services to both local and global markets from their London and New York offices – specialising in transforming business requirements into effective technology solutions.

Initially launched in 2010 and managed by APM Group, the CIF Code of Practice is a certifiable tool that allows CSPs to demonstrate that they adhere to key criteria in transparency, accountability, and capability to end users. This provides potential customers with the visibility to make an informed decision with regards to vendor offerings. Such clarity and standardisation is vital for end users looking to migrate to the cloud.

Markus McIver, CEO of Virtuoso, commented: “The rapid rise and growth in cloud computing has resulted in a virtual explosion in the number of CSPs vying for market share. An inevitable by-product of this, however, is the emergence of an untrustworthy minority set amongst the highly credible majority. Wading through this noise can be daunting for any end user and, as the cloud industry continues to mature, mechanisms like the CIF Code of Practice are crucial to provide objective measures for end users to determine who can be entrusted with their data, and who cannot.

“As a company we are committed to best practice, and as we continue to provide optimal productivity gains and cost savings for our customers, our recertification with CIF evidences this ethos”, he continued.

Richard Pharro, APM Group’s CEO, concluded: “Rooted in a foundation of trust, the purpose of the CIF Code of Practice is twofold: to provide end users with vital visibility on potential suppliers, and to reward reputable CSPs with the market recognition they deserve. With this in mind, we are delighted to announce the recertification of Virtuoso, a company whose customer-driven ethos is so aligned with the CIF’s vision for the cloud computing industry.”
