Intechnology provides hosting services for the NHS

InTechnology has signed a major seven-figure deal with NHS partner, the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC), on a project to deliver enhanced IT infrastructure for the health and social care sector.

InTechnology won the contract through the government’s G-Cloud framework. The framework provides an open platform for technology firms to tender for Cloud infrastructure, platforms and software contracts, which ultimately leads to the increased adoption of Cloud computing across the public sector.

InTechnology is one of a handful of managed service providers to offer an accredited N3 connection service. With InTechnology also boasting a number of geographically dispersed state-of-the-art data centres across England and proven expertise in delivering Cloud services to the health sector, HSCIC was quick to recognise the firm’s pedigree when awarding the contract.

As a result of this partnership, the HSCIC will benefit from cost savings, 24/7/365 hands and eyes support, and impressive levels of data centre and network resilience. InTechnology’s core network is built to withstand six concurrent failures, using five diverse network carriers, with its data centres built to Tier 3 standards with N+1 redundancy.

Furthermore, InTechnology’s accreditations ensure strict information governance, enabling it to provide the most robust environment to support such critical national programs. Coupled with the operational benefits of InTechnology’s enterprise-grade Cloud infrastructure, this enhanced security provides added assurance for HSCIC Operations.

Mark Halpin, New Business Sales Manager at InTechnology, commented: “To have secured one of the largest G-Cloud framework contracts to date and be working with the HSCIC on one of the most ambitious Cloud projects is fantastic news for the business.

“Our numerous accreditations and proven capability within the healthcare sector is why I believe we are perfectly placed to deliver a contract of this size, offering the HSCIC one of the most flexible, scalable and dynamic IT services available.

“We hope this win, coupled with our position on the G-Cloud framework, will continue to pave the way for future contract success amongst the UK’s biggest health and public sector bodies.”
