AtTask chose Vormetric after a detailed evaluation of numerous encryption and key management technologies spanning hardware, software and appliance-based solutions. AtTask saw an emerging need to support customers by encrypting data at rest. AtTask implemented Vormetric to support customers who need to adhere to demanding regulatory mandates, such as HIPAA HITECH, PCI DSS, GLBA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and federal and state data protection and breach notification laws.

“Encryption at rest is valuable to our customers that have the most demanding security requirements for data that lives in our cloud,” said Q. Wade Billings, AtTask’s director of global IT operations and security. “With Vormetric, we can offer enhanced security capabilities to these organisations that have a demonstrated need at a favourable price point. This new security offering has enabled AtTask to engage with companies that previously might not have considered a SaaS solution.”

“Companies need reassurance that their data is secure in the cloud, and they also need to know who is accessing it,” explained Vormetric’s VP of Cloud, CJ Radford. “The Vormetric Data Firewall enables AtTask customers to seamlessly encrypt their data, reduces the attack surface available by controlling user access to that data and allows AtTask to gather the security intelligence necessary to identify usage patterns that may indicate an attack is in progress. Given that security is the #1 concern of enterprises looking to embrace cloud technologies, deploying the Vormetric Data Firewall gives AtTask a distinct competitive advantage.”
