Introducing the `armoured browser’

By definition, the browser is the door through which nearly all malicious software actually finds its way into any computer system, yet most anti malware tools sit outside it, trying to keep guard on communications traffic. With this in mind, web information security specialist, Quarri Technologies, has launched a new defence system known as Armored Browser.

This is a multifunctional secure browser that protects enterprise’s endpoints from being infected by malware. The product combats the growing number of strands of malware that are successfully infecting enterprises on a daily basis. More and more enterprise attacks are occurring because of the current challenges signature-based anti-virus products have in detecting today’s threats.

According to a recent PandaLabs Q1 report, 31 percent of global PCs are infected with malware. Additionally, in Q1 2013, more than 6.5 million new malware samples were created, showing a dramatic increase in the development of sophisticated malware strains. It has been widely reported that browsers are the weakest link in IT security and pose the greatest risk to enterprises.

The Armored Browser set out to block malware from getting on the corporate endpoint. Quarri’s Perimeter Shield isolates the browser session protecting sensitive information from already infected end points and helps to combat the pre-existing global infection rate.

Finally, Quarri’s Data Safe gives the data owner the ability to isolate and control all digital forms of replication of the browser delivered information, including support for mobile devices.

A frequent issue for companies is restricting access to social networking sites due to the risks of malware or employees uploading data into sites that they should not. With Armored Browser, companies can now allow employees to browse securely no matter what sites are visited.
