CloudSigma launches Hybrid Hosting offering

CloudSigma has announced the launch of its hybrid hosting offering for customers at its cloud locations, including Switch SuperNAP in Las Vegas, Nevada; Interxion in Zurich, Switzerland; and Equinix globally. By offering colocated space at each of these locations and private patching to its public cloud, CloudSigma grants its customers both the security and elasticity required for sensitive data and demanding workloads.

Colocated hybrid hosting customers benefit from a 1GigE or 10GigE private patch directly into their private network within CloudSigma’s cloud, granting them all the flexibility, scalability and accessibility benefits of a public cloud environment without the security concerns of having their data traverse a public IP line. Additionally, customers have the option to utilize CloudSigma’s redundant routing, external IP connectivity and DDOS protection systems for their own private infrastructure, paying the standard per GB rate for outgoing data transfer only. CloudSigma is also offering a rebate on cloud spending of up to 20 percent against customer private hosting costs.

CloudSigma’s unique private-patching technology was first introduced with the launch of CloudSigma 2.0 in mid-June and was a primary catalyst for Equinix’s subsequent partnership, announced in early July. With CloudSigma’s private-patching capabilities, customers can leverage the elasticity of public cloud with private IP connectivity only; all without performance sapping VPNs. CloudSigma’s ability to closely match customers’ private environments makes it an ideal choice for hybrid hosting.

“CloudSigma’s highly customizable infrastructure is designed for hybrid cloud architectures spanning multiple locations and extending private networks into the CloudSigma cloud,” said Dick Theunissen, Equinix EMEA CMO. “They are a new and important component in our global ecosystem of best-of-breed cloud providers.”

“We believe that public cloud technology is the future of computing,” said Robert Jenkins, CloudSigma CEO. “But, we also understand that, for some requirements, customers prefer their own hardware. With this new offering, we aim to deliver the benefits of public cloud while actually reducing the cost for private hosting through our seamless hybrid hosting and rebate system.”
