KOcycle has received the King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainability, recognising its work within the UK channel as ESG considerations become more prominent in customer requirements.

The company, which is certified as a B Corp, has been recognised for its zero-landfill initiative and its digital platform, KODI. The award highlights its environmental approach and its role in supporting organisations in managing technology throughout its lifecycle.

For channel partners, the award reflects the increasing importance of sustainability in procurement decisions, alongside factors such as security, cost optimisation, and regulatory compliance.

As organisations face greater expectations to meet environmental targets, partners are being asked to move beyond traditional supply models and take a more strategic role in supporting customers’ ESG objectives.

KOcycle provides services that include reuse, refurbishment, and secure disposal, incorporating circular economy principles into partner offerings. This approach is intended to help customers reduce environmental impact and total cost of ownership while increasing visibility and control over IT assets.

The award also reflects a broader shift in how IT asset disposition (ITAD) is viewed within the channel. With the growth of AI and increasing demand for hardware, supply chains are under pressure, particularly in relation to materials such as copper, lithium, and cobalt. As IT infrastructure expands to support digital transformation, resource availability is becoming a key consideration.

As a result, IT lifecycle services are increasingly being used as part of strategies to extend asset life, reduce waste, and recover materials for reuse. KOcycle’s approach combines refurbishment and remarketing with material recycling, aiming to maximise asset value while supporting sustainability and resource management goals.

This development creates opportunities for channel partners to expand their service offerings. The recognition adds to KOcycle’s presence in the UK channel and follows previous industry acknowledgements.

As partners look to differentiate through additional services, KOcycle states its focus is on supporting both efficiency and cost management within IT asset lifecycle processes.

With ESG regulations evolving, customers are seeking more information on the environmental impact of their IT estates. Distributors and resellers are increasingly incorporating lifecycle services into their offerings to support emissions tracking, waste reduction, and regulatory alignment.

Oli Mason, Founder and Managing Director at KOcycle, said:
“This award is recognition of the work the team has put in over the past few years, but it’s also a signal to our partners. Sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’. It’s becoming a core part of how customers evaluate technology decisions, and partners have a real opportunity to lead that conversation.”

Mike McLellan, Managing Director at KOcycle, commented:
“In the channel, trust and accountability are everything. We hope this award reinforces to partners and their customers that they are working with an organisation held to the highest standards. It also reflects the growing importance of IT lifecycle services as part of a broader solutions, supporting not just sustainability, but resilience and cost efficiency.”

For KOcycle, the King’s Award supports its positioning in helping partners address these requirements, with sustainability framed as both a compliance factor and a commercial consideration in an ESG-focused market.
