WatchGuard Technologies announced at the EMEA Impact Partner Conference the introduction of Rai. This is a digital AI workforce designed for MSP environments and intended to support cybersecurity operations.

Rai functions as a digital system that can support security teams by detecting, correlating, and responding to threats with a degree of automation. It operates continuously, aiming to help reduce risk and lessen the operational workload on human analysts by taking action in real time.

The system is designed to run continuously and scale based on demand. It is intended to reduce repetitive operational tasks, allowing engineers to focus on areas such as client management and more complex technical issues. The initial capability available is the Analyst role, which supports threat detection, investigation, and response across platform activity and is positioned as an initial layer of defence support.

Additional planned capabilities for Rai include Auditor and Admin roles. The Auditor function is intended to support compliance monitoring and configuration issue identification, while the Admin role is designed to assist with operational tasks such as patch scheduling and partner communications, with the aim of supporting ongoing service operations.

The introduction of Rai is part of WatchGuard Technologies’ broader development of AI-based tools for MSP environments, with the goal of shifting some security processes from reactive handling toward more automated, predictive support.

Operational visibility is supported through the WatchGuard Insights Hub, which provides dashboards intended to give MSPs a consolidated view of activity. This includes the ability to review both overall status and individual client details, along with a daily summary of key events and actions.

Rai is positioned as an AI-based system intended to expand automation within MSP cybersecurity workflows.
