Check Point launches AI defence plane for enhanced security

Check Point introduces the AI Defense Plane to safeguard enterprises as AI systems advance to autonomous roles in business.

Check Point Software Technologies has introduced the Check Point AI Defense Plane, a unified AI security control system designed to support the deployment and operation of AI across enterprise environments.

As AI systems evolve from task assistance to performing more autonomous actions, accessing data, and using tools, the need for security controls that address these behaviours has increased. The AI Defense Plane is intended to provide control over how AI operates within enterprise environments.

As organisations deploy AI systems into production, the potential attack surface extends beyond models and prompts to include agentic workflows, delegated tasks, non-human access, and other AI-driven processes within business systems.

The AI Defense Plane is built on Check Point’s AI Security platform and incorporates technologies from ThreatCloud AI, along with capabilities from acquisitions such as Lakera and Cyata. It includes functions for discovery, observability, governance, runtime control, and continuous validation.

At its core, the platform includes an AI-native security engine that analyses AI interactions and threat data to support real-time decision-making. It is designed to provide automated protection across multiple languages and to respond to threats within milliseconds.

While some approaches focus on model-level controls, the AI Defense Plane is designed to provide control over AI behaviour during runtime within live environments, including workflows that connect AI to business processes.

The platform includes three main components:
  • Workforce AI Security: Provides visibility and policy enforcement for employee use of AI applications, with the aim of reducing data exposure risks.
  • AI Application & Agent Security: Supports discovery and management of AI applications and agents, including analysis of where AI is used, access controls, and trust relationships.
  • AI Red Teaming: Provides continuous testing of AI systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and assess system behaviour as AI moves into production environments.
