ANSecurity, a specialist cybersecurity consultancy, has delivered a cyber resilience programme for a UK organisation operating in the racing and leisure sector. The engagement aimed to strengthen digital infrastructure and support ongoing operations across heritage venues.

The organisation operates award-winning racecourses as well as a hotel, bars, and event facilities, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. Its IT environment includes systems for ticketing, CCTV, gaming networks, radio communications, public Wi-Fi, and back-office platforms. Given the breadth of its infrastructure, a structured cybersecurity approach was identified as necessary to support continued operations.

A security review identified vulnerabilities across areas including network architecture, authentication services, and cyber awareness, as well as opportunities to improve the use of existing security technologies. As board-level attention to cyber risk increased, the organisation sought external support that could provide technical guidance alongside strategic direction.

ANSecurity adopted a consultative model and worked closely with the client’s IT function. The engagement focused on advisory services, strategic implementation support, and collaboration aimed at strengthening internal capability while aligning security improvements with business priorities.

The approach was designed to ensure that progress remained sustainable, operationally practical, and consistent with the organisation’s broader digital strategy.

The programme included the implementation of stronger authentication mechanisms and security key technologies, a redesign of network architecture with improved segmentation and traffic controls, and structured threat emulation exercises to test detection and response capabilities. Efforts also focused on enhancing user-level security through cyber awareness training and optimising existing security tools and technologies.

As a result, the organisation reported improvements in cyber maturity, including enhanced detection and response readiness, clearer executive visibility of cyber risk through structured reporting, and progress toward Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. These improvements were delivered without disrupting critical systems during operational race days.

Cybersecurity has become a recurring topic at board level, reflecting greater focus on digital risk management and organisational resilience.

The long-term collaboration demonstrates how an embedded and partnership-led approach can support resilience in complex operational environments. By working closely with the organisation, ANSecurity supported a shift from reactive security measures toward a structured cybersecurity strategy aligned with compliance requirements, operational continuity, and business objectives.
