Honeywell has announced a strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to support building operators in transitioning toward AI-enabled autonomous operations. The collaboration focuses on integrating Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) to create infrastructure that supports automation and increased operational intelligence.

The partnership brings together Honeywell’s expertise in automation and OT systems, along with its AI-enhanced analytics capabilities, and TCS’s experience in cloud computing and IT consulting. The objective is to establish a digital foundation that enables real-time intelligence, improved operational efficiency, and greater automation across environments that combine IT and OT systems.

Key elements of the collaboration include:
  • Real-time visibility – Providing visibility across IT and OT systems to support more informed decision-making.
  • Efficiency improvements – Applying AI-powered analytics to enhance operational efficiency and asset performance.
  • Autonomous operations – Systems designed to perceive, analyse, act, and learn in real time, with the aim of improving resilience and security.
  • Scalable infrastructure – Cloud-based convergence of IT and OT intended to support scalable digital infrastructure.
The partnership builds on existing collaborations between Honeywell and TCS and is intended to improve efficiency, agility, and resilience for customers while enabling broader data utilisation. The initiative is initially planned for the Indian market, with plans to expand to the United States and the Middle East.

Representatives from both organisations have stated that the focus includes enabling autonomous workflows at scale and improving operational integration through advances in connectivity and cloud capabilities.

Through the application of AI technologies and industry insights, the collaboration aims to improve process efficiency, workforce capability, and asset uptime. The initiative reflects ongoing development in digital industrial operations and the convergence of IT and OT systems.
