Signicat strengthens UK presence with Ray Ryan's appointment

With identity fraud impacting UK businesses, Signicat appoints Ray Ryan to lead its operations in a key market.

Following a recent Signicat report highlighting that 22% of UK businesses’ annual revenue is affected by identity fraud and its prevention costs, the digital identity provider has appointed Ray Ryan as its UK Country Manager.

The appointment reflects Signicat's continued focus on the UK, a key market where it manages the full lifecycle of digital identity verification. Based in London, Ray Ryan will report to Joakim Harging, Chief Enterprise Nordics & UK and GCSS at Signicat.

With over 25 years of leadership experience in regtech and fintech companies, including PassFort and ComplyAdvantage, Ryan has worked closely with financial institutions on fraud prevention, KYC, and digital onboarding. He has experience building go-to-market strategies and helping highly regulated organisations use technology to manage compliance, risk, and growth.

Ryan notes the complexity of digital identity management for UK businesses: “Companies need to manage intricate identity verification obligations, while simultaneously defending against fraud and preparing for future standards like eIDAS 2.0 or AMLR, as well as the BritCard." His focus will be on demonstrating how Signicat’s platform supports these processes, helping organisations meet regulatory requirements efficiently across the UK and Europe.

The hire also supports Signicat’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the UK and assist companies in preparing for emerging standards such as eIDAS 2.0, AMLR, and the BritCard.

As digital identity evolves, the emphasis is increasingly on orchestrating a seamless and secure customer journey, aiming for consistent verification and trust.
