F5, recognised as a global leader in delivering and securing all applications and APIs, has declared its intent to acquire CalypsoAI, a noted pioneer in the field of enterprise AI security. This strategic acquisition aims to integrate CalypsoAI's award-winning platform into the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP), forming a holistic solution to secure AI inference effectively.

"AI is redefining enterprise architecture... Traditional firewalls and point solutions can't keep up. The addition of CalypsoAI will give enterprises the confidence to innovate faster and better protect critical data as they rely on F5 to deliver and secure apps, APIs, and AI modes across their environment"

Enterprises are increasingly embedding AI into their operations, introducing a novel and swiftly evolving attack surface via the AI stack of apps, agents, APIs, models, and data repositories. This presents sophisticated security challenges that traditional controls fail to address. With mounting regulatory scrutiny and the emergence of shadow AI usage, the risks and compliance gaps grow.

F5 is trying to remain independent from any single AI model or hosting provider with CalypsoAI's adaptive security capabilites that provide driven and ongoing AI protection, including

  • Adversarial threat protection: Proactive red teaming tests against 10,000+ new attack prompts each month
  • Secure data: Guardrails detect and prevent sensitive data leakage and policy violations at runtime and audit AI interactions across models
  • Unified visibility and governance: Centralised observability make it easier to meet regulatory standards.

The need for a model-agnostic, purpose-built approach becomes clear, offering enterprises guardrails for AI interactions with data, users, and threats, alongside comprehensive visibility across infrastructures.
