Quantum Science, an innovator in short-wave infrared (SWIR) quantum dot technology, has proudly announced it has been granted the UK's first patent for infrared lead-free quantum dots. This critical milestone consolidates the firm’s status as a leader in crafting the most robust IP portfolio in this field.
The new patent solidifies Quantum Science’s acclaimed stature, building on its stronghold in SWIR imaging markets. Known for their INFIQ® QDs, Quantum Science offers superior performance without the need for lead-based compounds, paving the way for broader commercial explorations from consumer gadgets to advanced industrial sensors.
Quantum Science’s intellectual property now boasts 11 patent families with 77 patents filed around the globe. This latest achievement underscores the company’s commitment to safeguarding innovations across the entire quantum dot value chain—spanning synthesis, surface modification, inks, ligand exchange, and device integration.
