VDURA and NMSU partner for Post-Quantum Cryptographic technology

VDURA collaborates with New Mexico State University to develop PQC technology, fortifying AI and HPC data against future quantum risks.

Quantum computing has emerged as a groundbreaking force, promising game-changing advances in both artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC). However, it also poses significant challenges to current encryption practices. In a decisive move to mitigate these potential risks, VDURA has entered into a strategic partnership with New Mexico State University (NMSU) to develop and commercialise post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) technology.

Ken Claffey, CEO of VDURA said, “Our mission has always been to deliver the most reliable, performance-dense data platform in the industry. By embedding quantum-resilient encryption into VDURA’s flash-optimised architecture, we’re future-proofing that mission for the AI era.”

NMSU, an institution now recognised with Carnegie R1 status, brings exceptional cryptography and cybersecurity expertise to the partnership. The integrated efforts will see NIST-selected PQC algorithms seamlessly embedded into VDURA’s file-system stack, ensuring that GPU-accelerated workloads are encrypted at line-rate without any performance detriment.

Dr. Jay Misra, Associate Dean for Research in the College of Engineering at NMSU, expressed enthusiasm for translating academic developments into market-ready solutions, setting the stage for a secured technological trajectory.

Meanwhile, Dr. Luis Cifuentes, Vice President for Research at NMSU, highlighted the strategic significance of industry partnerships in diversifying their research portfolio. He remarked on the potential of this collaboration to cement NMSU’s status in the cybersecurity domain.

By joining forces, VDURA and NMSU are setting a precedent for secure, high-performance data infrastructures, ensuring the data that fuels discoveries today remains protected from quantum challenges of tomorrow.
