Sitehop, a dynamic British startup, is transforming the future of encryption by integrating advanced in-house testing. With the aid of Teledyne LeCroy's Xena Loki 100G traffic-generation platform, supplied through Red Helix, they have drastically improved their speed-testing processes for securely transmitting encrypted data.
Funded by a five-figure Productivity Grant from South Yorkshire Mayoral Authority, Sitehop has invested in cutting-edge technology that allows bi-directional testing with sub-microsecond latency in 100Gbps networks. Bringing the testing process in-house has also eliminated delays previously experienced with international testing partners, reducing the turnaround from two weeks to a single day and saving significant costs as it previously cost £18,000 per testing cycle.
Utilisation of the Xena Loki device enables Sitehop to validate their Sitehop SAFEcore platform, which boasts 835 nanoseconds latency at 100Gbps encryption. Capable of supporting 4,000 concurrent connections, it employs agile encryption methods for critical sectors, including telecommunications, finance, government, and infrastructure.
With the Xena Loki platform, Sitehop can assess peak loads, handle burst traffic, facilitate error recovery, and manage encrypted traffic flows efficiently. Stress tests, protocol environments, and real-time encrypted benchmarks form a part of their rigorous evaluation protocols. This precision confirms the Sitehop SAFEcore platform's performance within high-bandwidth, low-latency settings, preparing it for innovations like 5G back haul and post-quantum cryptography.
Melissa Chambers, co-founder of Sitehop, emphasises that, "Testing in this way is a strategic enabler for us, accelerating product release cycles and reducing the risk of field failure..." With the support of the grant, Sitehop has successfully enhanced its testing capabilities, which strengthens their growth model and positions them as industry leaders in the UK tech sector.
Their baseline testing adheres to popular benchmarks like RFC 2544 and Y.1564, ensuring performance consistency. Though often surpassing traditional methods, the Sitehop SAFEcore solution also uses custom profiles to over-perform in simulated threat scenarios and dynamic key exchanges.
Liam Jackson, Director at Red Helix, praises Sitehop's partnership: "We are thrilled to work with Sitehop, an exciting start-up company..." This collaboration is a testament to the platform's efficiency, offering unmatched speed and precision that software-only tools can't replicate.
