A survey of over 1,000 adults reveals the nation's journey towards AI adoption—highlighting creative uses, productivity boosts, and prevailing concerns.

Across the UK, 40% of citizens incorporate AI in both work and personal spheres, while 15% use it solely for work. In comparison, 25% employ AI for personal life, and 31% don't use it at all. Notably, 72% experienced productivity gains, with 47% saving up to 4 hours weekly at home. A similar percentage report saving up to 4 hours a week at work, with 12% reporting times savings of more than 10 hours.

AI tools support daily tasks, significantly streamlining activities, from recipe generation to creating birthday invitations. Over half report financial savings, with a quarter reducing expenses by £50 monthly. Glasgow boasts the highest financial savings, while Southampton leads in time saved.

People regularly use AI at home for information research (65%), smart communication (29%) entertainment (28%) and personal organisation & fitness tracking (41%). At work professionals are using AI for design & content creation (70%), research & information gathering (56%), data analysis (46%), communication (22%) and software development (18%).

Despite noted advantages, barriers to AI adoption persist. Privacy concerns affect 31%, while 27% express usage difficulties. Concerns over dependency (19%) and financial costs (14%) deter others. Regions such as Belfast and Birmingham identify trust and ease-of-use as primary concerns.

Industries like pharmaceuticals and creative arts show reluctance, largely due to a lack of education on AI advantages.
