Single-Phase Immersion Cooling

New exascale computing hardware with best energy efficiency, for HPC, CDN, and general IT workloads.

Giga Computing, a subsidiary of GIGABYTE and an industry leader in high-performance servers, server motherboards, and workstations, introduces the H273-Z82-IAW1, a design in 2U form factor including 4 dual-CPU compute nodes with support for AMD EPYC™ 9004 processors and designed for high-density CPU-centric computing.

The highlight of H273-Z82-IAW1 is its readiness for single-phase immersion cooling operation, to not only deliver top-tier performance and scalability (up to 400W TDP per CPU socket) but also provide the advantages of green computing, offering energy savings and a lower total cost of ownership (CTO) per watt of power consumption. The chassis design of H273-Z82-IAW1 aims to allow for optimal immersion liquid flows within the system and for easy manoeuvrability and maintenance in data centres. The path to AMD's 5nm 'Zen 4' architecture was paved with many successful generations of EPYC innovations and chipset designs, and AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors continue this progression. Adding a host of new features to target a wide range of workloads, the EPYC 9004 processors will deliver even better CPU performance and performance per watt, and do so on a platform with PCIe 5.0 (2x the throughput of PCIe 4.0 lanes) that also has support for 50% more memory channels.

The H273-Z82-IAW1 server can be used in GIGABYTE's A1P0-EB0, a single-phase 25U EIA immersion tank solution, accommodating up to 21U EIA servers with additional 2 individual 2U EIA servers. The immersion tank has a minimum PUE reaching 1.02 and up to 80kW of heat dissipation capacity. A1P0-EB0 is delivered together with its Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) which can handle a coolant volume of 750L. For any data centres with cooling water at 20-35°C, the combination of A1P0-EB0 and H273-Z82-IAW1 can be readily installed and deployed without much change to the existing infrastructure.

Optional accessories such as IT lift, Dry Rack, and Drain Oil Pump can be provided altogether as well. GIGABYTE can also provide on-site installation services and RMA services to the immersion cooling total solution.

By combining GIGABYTE's years of R&D and deployment experience in the field of immersion cooling with customized servers and liquid cooling tank products, GIGABYTE will be able to help companies quickly deploy high density, high compute data centers while complying with global “net-zero emissions” specifications, allowing users to get a head start on their digital transformation journey.
