Telehouse plans London Docklands data centre campus expansion

New data centre will offer over 31,000 sqm of colocation space with first floor open early 2022.

Telehouse International Corporation of Europe plans to expand its London data centre campus with the creation of a new data centre. Located close to its London Docklands campus, the new data centre will offer 31,000 sqm of colocation space over six floors and 30MVA of total power.

The first floor of the new data centre will be available for customers early 2022, and house around 500 racks, with a further five floors following later. A network of dark fibre cables will facilitate integration with the existing Telehouse London Docklands data centres, located approximately 300 metres away. This will enable customers to benefit from low latency and access the same highly connected environment and dense ecosystem of almost 800 connectivity partners including leading Internet Exchanges, Cloud Service Providers, Internet Service Providers, and Content Service Providers for which the campus is known.

The new data centre will be the company’s fifth data centre in London Docklands and will support the growing demand for secure, resilient, colocation services as well as access to leading cloud players and managed services.

Commenting on the development, Telehouse Europe Managing Director Ken Sakai said: “This latest investment demonstrates our continued support for the UK market. London is one of the most critical interconnection points in the world and plays a major role in facilitating the flow of data that supports the growing digital economy. The new data centre will ensure we are well-positioned to continue this growth, service our customers’ needs and meet future demand.”
