Dataiku launches the Enterprise AI Lab

Dataiku, the centralized data platform that powers self-service analytics and machine learning operationalization in businesses worldwide, has launched the Enterprise AI Lab, a new service that pushes the boundaries of innovation to promote the wider proliferation and more creative use of AI in the enterprise.

The Enterprise AI Lab is made up of international data scientists, data experts, and AI architects who will take on challenging projects from corporations, nonprofits, or academics - large or small - worldwide. The ultimate goal of the EAI Lab is, from a pure technological and execution perspective, to improve business processes using AI and ultimately free up employees for more creative and engaging work.

“We’re eager to expand Dataiku above our traditional product and service offerings and into a space that calls for innovation and creativity beyond the bounds of a specific tool or technology,” said Florian Douetteau, Dataiku CEO. “We believe in pushing the boundaries in data science and machine learning to help people and the world. Following our commitment to the scikit-learn consortium, the Enterprise AI Lab is another step in that journey.”

In its pilot stage, the Enterprise AI Lab automated the processing of physical mail for an insurance company, reducing a full day of manual work to less than an hour and allowing mail handlers to focus on triaging only the most difficult letters.

Following this initial success, Dataiku decided to open the Enterprise AI Lab in order to harness the energy of organizations across industries to allow for ever-more inventive and effective solutions by working hands-on together. In addition to finding a solution through their projects together, the EAI Lab hopes to equip data and business teams within companies with the resources to continue bringing this creative, problem-solving mindset on future projects.

“We’re passionate about solving ever-more complex (yet real) challenges with the power of data science, machine learning, and automation” said Léo Dreyfus-Schmidt, head of the Enterprise AI Lab. “In a world where most of the focus on AI technology thus far has been on consumer goods, we hope this initiative will help proliferate the understanding of AI’s place in the enterprise, specifically among mid-market organizations who might not otherwise be able to take on the investment.”
