Increasing uptime

Enhancements in CenterScape 2.0 will increase data centre uptime and efficiency, while reducing costs through increased visibility and insight.

RF Code has introduced CenterScape 2.0. This latest release builds on the CenterScape platform introduced in 2015 and continues to offer global scalability and easy integration with existing IT, facilities and business systems.

CenterScape 2.0 focuses on creating dashboards and widgets based on real-time intelligence from data generated by its proprietary sensor networks. This results in dashboards designed for use by both data centre managers and executives. While sharing a common goal for the success of their facilities, managers and executives analyse different information to help make the decisions that allow their data centres to function at optimum efficiency. Recognising this, CenterScape 2.0 provides both pre-defined and highly customisable dashboards tailored to each group and their unique needs.

The Executive Dashboard focuses on information related to the financial outcomes and business process improvement/optimisation that C-level and other executive staff need to maintain to create a healthy bottom line for their data centres. Widgets have been created for this dashboard to provide data on key metrics such as:

·         Deployment Accuracy and Inventory Audit Accuracy

·         Proper and Improper Deployment Costs

·         Asset Retirement Planning

The Data Centre Manager Dashboard focuses on the reliability and functionality of the data centre, targeted to the front-line data centre manager. As with the other dashboards, the user can drill down into the information to get additional intelligence. Widgets have been created for this dashboard to provide data on key metrics such as:

·         Rack Cooling Index and Rack Temperature Index

·         Cooling Range and Humidity Range

·         Average Asset Age, Asset Retirement Status and Asset Retirement Accuracy

In addition to the new dashboards, CenterScape 2.0 also offers an updated Web User Interface (UI). The modern interface was created from input by customers and partners and is designed to increase ease of use when accomplishing tasks within the platform, automate work that was previously manual, and reduce clicks. With a focus on an improved user experience for data centre managers, executives and system administrators, the UI is more intuitive and accessible than its predecessor and will increase user adoption, functionality and productivity. Key highlights include:

·         Consolidated user and admin consoles

·         Consolidated events and alerts into "notifications"

·         Pre-loaded common sensor groups

·         The ability to automatically add new sensors

·         Improved filtering capabilities

“The upgrades within the latest version of CenterScape have been specifically designed to provide both data centre managers and executives with additional tools to optimise their operational and business processes,” said Matt Riley, Software Product Manager for RF Code. “The enhancements in this release provide the insight and visibility necessary to make key operational and technical decisions, allowing owners and operators a unique opportunity to see how real-time business intelligence is being affected by modifications made to the data centre.”
