Talend has appointed Patrick Booth as VP Sales UK & Ireland. Booth will be responsible for the customer and partner ecosystem across the UK and Ireland reporting to Fran?ois Mero, Senior Vice President of Sales EMEA.

Talend’s decision to hire Booth for this key role follows on the heels of its appointment of seasoned software sales executive, Kamal Brar as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific, and further underlines Talend’s strong focus on regional sales into multiple vertical sectors including finance, healthcare, and telecommunications.

“We believe Booth’s extensive sales leadership and general management experience across a wide range of market environments will be valuable to us for sales of our solutions and services across the UK and Ireland,” said Mero. “He has a demonstrated ability to build, lead and inspire high-performing sales teams, key attributes as we look to strengthen our position throughout the region.”

Booth brings over 20 years of sales and sales leadership experience to his new role, during which time he has developed expertise in driving sales in a range of complex and high pressure environments. Prior to Oracle, Booth was Director/VP for of Large Enterprise Sales for SAP UK & Ireland. Booth also previously held senior sales leadership positions at Business Objects and IBM.

Booth’s appointment comes at a time when organisations are becoming more data-driven and spending more on big data related solutions.

“There is a significant shift happening right now in the market. I am increasingly seeing organisations adopt the new wave of agile, innovative, and open source based solutions, which is clearly what Talend is delivering for the big data market. I am thrilled to be joining Talend at such a pivotal time, where we can translate our expertise and understanding of the end-to-end data journey into a competitive edge for our customers.”
