Enhanced monitoring of ColdLogik data centre cooling solutions

Concurrent Thinking and USystems are proud to announce a new partnership.

Concurrent COMMAND data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) software will now be offered by USystems with their ColdLogik cooling systems to deliver an end-to-end solution for energy efficient data centres.

ColdLogik cooling solutions operate at the cabinet level which in turn controls the room ambient temperature, unlike traditional air conditioning systems. This enables them to drive much higher cooling efficiencies.

Concurrent COMMAND provides monitoring and management capabilities that span both IT and Facilities devices within the data centre, enabling it to highlight operational issues as well as potential energy savings.

The collaboration will permit USystems’ customers to ensure that their data centres are functioning optimally, while minimising risk.

The Concurrent COMMAND Facilities CONTROL module will monitor water temperature, air temperature, humidity, dew points and fan speeds for ColdLogik cooling solutions, as well as managing auxiliary equipment within the data centre.

This functionality can then be extended as required to incorporate the potential of full data centre DCIM management via the modular options of Power CONTROL, which will enable full power chain management, and Server CONTROL and IT CONTROL, which will provide the ability to monitor IT equipment and applications. When ColdLogik solutions are used alongside existing air-cooling systems, Concurrent COMMAND’s Environmental CONTROL solution may also be deployed, while extensive asset management is offered through the Asset CONTROL module.

The companies have already worked closely on the prestigious installation for HPC Wales at the Dylan Thomas Data Centre at Swansea University. USystems advanced water cooling technology is deployed throughout the data centre, while Concurrent COMMAND provides pro-active management in order to ensure that any minor problems do not escalate.

Michael Cook, Managing Director at USystems Ltd, has spoken about the partnership: “Concurrent Thinking’s DCIM solution, Concurrent COMMAND, provides USystems with access to leading edge software monitoring capability to enhance the Room Management System (RMS) for its ColdLogik data centre cooling solutions. We’re eager to widen the reach of our portfolio into the emerging DCIM sector.”

Michael Rudgyard, CTO and founder of Concurrent Thinking, commented: “I believe USystems are a perfect fit with Concurrent Thinking and we’re excited to embark on this partnership with their state-of-the-art, energy efficient cooling systems. We’re delighted to be able to provide enhanced monitoring and management capability in return."
