Zadara Storage expands into Germany with Amazon Web Services and Equinix

Zadara™ Storage has expanded the availability of its award-winning Virtual Private Storage Array™ (VPSA™) service to both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Equinix in Frankfurt, Germany, adding a second European region to the already existing VPSA service in Dublin, Ireland. The Frankfurt location is Zadara’s 7th AWS location, 8th Equinix location and 32nd total presence worldwide.

With this announcement, Zadara is able to provide customers of both AWS and Equinix colocation the full suite of Zadara enterprise Storage as a Service, SAN and NAS in the cloud offerings. The new Frankfurt, Germany location offers a number of benefits, including: 1) the choice of an additional location within Europe, 2) the choice of a location within the boundaries of the Federal Republic of Germany, 3) the ability to automatically replicate data between Frankfurt and Dublin; and 4) a location with geographical proximity to many Central European cities.

“We are delighted to continue our rapid growth with the addition of Frankfurt, Germany,” said Nelson Nahum, CEO of Zadara Storage. “Existing and would-be customers have asked for this location. Our award-winning storage as a service is now more widely available to AWS and Equinix customers who need high-performance, high-availability storage features such as clustering, support for both file and block storage, full isolation from other tenants, encryption, snapshots, remote replication, volume sizes up to 100TBs, SSD caching or any of our many other enterprise-class features.”

“Equinix has continuously focused on ensuring that enterprise customers have a choice of world class technology providers as part of the large services ecosystem available within Equinix. Specifically in Germany, with both Zadara and AWS now offering services in Frankfurt, enterprises can build high performance cloud solutions that use AWS and Zadara products in combined models with unparalleled speed and ease”, said Chris Sharp, vice president of cloud innovation at Equinix. “Having an integrated cloud solution that leverages the combination of AWS, Zadara and many of the hundreds of network service providers also available with Equinix is a very compelling value proposition for many enterprise CIOs.”

“As users continue to deploy cloud-based architectures, they are looking for proven, best-in-class solutions that reduce risk and management burden, and increase
agility,” said Simon Robinson, research vice president at 451 Research. “This expanded combination of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Zadara Storage and Equinix offers some compelling benefits for customers in Europe looking to deploy enterprise-grade storage-as-a-service. This is an excellent offering for the European region.”
