Bivio Networks, a provider of systems for securing, monitoring and controlling critical network infrastructure, has introduced the Bivio 8000i Series Advanced Cyber Security Platform, the latest addition to the company’s line of high performance programmable cyber security platforms.

The product leverages industry-leading Intel x86 architecture to extend the performance of cyber security applications up to 40Gbps full duplex, allowing organisations to centrally manage multiple security applications on a high-speed platform without sacrificing speed, performance or flexibility.

According to the company, IT managers in both the public and private sectors are under immense pressure to streamline their datacentres, consolidate applications and meet increased throughput demands while juggling a lack of qualified resources and increased security threats,” said Leila Bristow, vice president of worldwide sales at Bivio Networks. “The Bivio 8000i platform combines our architectural hallmarks with intelligent, massively increased packet processing capabilities to deliver a solution that meets the need for simplified, optimized and more secure infrastructure.”

The Bivio 8000i Series supports all standard Linux applications, open source security and deep packet inspection (DPI) applications that allow for unprecedented scalability in today’s dynamic threat environment. The new platform complements the company’s current product, the 7000 Series DPI Application Platform, which will continue to support networks up to 10Gbps.

Organisations such as federal civilian, defence and intelligence agencies with demanding cyber security requirements can benefit from Bivio 8000i, an efficient, single device interface that consolidates management and reduces human error. This centralised approach simplifies compliance with federal information assurance requirements, relieves staff of day-to-day operations management and allows more time for innovation and value-add initiatives.

The Platform is currently available for evaluation and will be available for general release and availability in the autumn of 2014.
