Understand the challenges of SaaS with Carrenza's new white paper

Carrenza Limited has published a new white paper that will aim to help Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) understand the key challenges they will face when migrating their operations to offer cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology.

Despite a growing number of organisations are looking towards SaaS as a way of making their activities more efficient and cost-effective, understanding of what they need to do to make SaaS a success remains low.

Many ISVs are likely to have found that moving their operations is a lot more complex than first anticipated, as there are a wide range of factors to consider, many of which may not be immediately obvious when they set out initial goals for such a project.

Therefore, Carrenza's new paper, entitled 'Making the Transition to SaaS - Key Areas to Consider', aims to guide ISVs through the process of moving away from a traditional client-server model to a SaaS solution, highlighting some of the key technical, financial and operational issues they are likely to encounter.

Dan Sutherland, CEO and founder of Carrenza, explained: "Many ISVs only think about the technical side of things when they're transitioning to the cloud - whether data will be secure, how easy applications are to scale up, that sort of thing.

"But this is only the tip of the iceberg. There are also a range of business, financial and compliance factors to take into account, and this is often where ISVs trip up. Our new white paper aims to take a holistic view and show how these businesses can work with a trusted partner to meet these challenges, offering their customers a quality SaaS solution."
