Version 1 launches Enterprise Cloud European Centre of Excellence

Version 1 has announced the launch of a European Centre of Excellence for Enterprise Cloud Services. The new centre will consolidate and grow Version 1’s investment in leading cloud platforms from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure and will provide trusted advice and market leading cloud consulting, cloud implementation and managed services to Enterprise scale customers.

Speaking at the announcement, Damien Smyth, Version 1 Head of Infrastructure and Cloud said “Version 1 has been providing cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service solutions since 2009 and in the last 12 months we have witnessed a surge of interest and adoption by traditional enterprise organisations who are starting to benefit from significant cost savings and organisational agility achievable with cloud computing. Accordingly we have made the decision to establish Version 1 as the market leader in Enterprise Cloud Services and have increased recruitment, training and certification of cloud consultants. Today we are launching a dedicated Cloud Centre of Excellence and our Enterprise customers will benefit from cloud agnostic advice and an approach focused on resolving cloud adoption concerns through scalable reference architectures and safe on-boarding.

We are a leading Microsoft partner with 140 consultants holding a very broad range of Microsoft certifications from infrastructure through to database and applications. We have a long-established track record in Microsoft Cloud solutions with numerous successful Office 365 and Azure deployments, including the first Office 365 implementation in Ireland. Version 1 is a member of the Microsoft Azure Partner Circle and following the launch of the Azure infrastructure-as-a-service platform in April 2013 we are the predominant partner for Microsoft Cloud solutions.

Version 1 is also an Amazon Web Services Advanced Consulting Partner and is one of a few partners to be awarded the AWS Managed Service Provider Competency, an endorsement of our ability to fully manage our customers’ AWS-based infrastructure and associated databases and applications. We have trained and certified 20 AWS Architects and 50 AWS Technical Professionals across the entire technology stack establishing us as one of the largest and most certified AWS partners in Europe.”

This investment in the Cloud Centre of Excellence has helped Version 1 compete and win cloud deals with international customers such as Swiss Post Solutions, a global provider of document processing solutions.
