Cloud receives government approval

New accreditation will significantly reduce cost and time to deployment for partners and customers.

Eduserv has been awarded the IL2 pan-government security accreditation by CESG, the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance.
This announcement means that public sector organisations and partners can now buy a standardised and pan-government accredited version of the Cloud Compute platform without going through the challenge and expense of assuring the security of the service themselves.

Eduserv has provided IL2 and IL3 services through its Cloud Compute multi-tenant infrastructure platform for a number of years.

According to Ed Zedlewski, Chief Information Officer for Eduserv, the Eduserv accreditation will increase market competition and is will specifically benefit buyers that want to speed up secure cloud-based deployments for a lower cost.

“This accreditation is vitally important because many departments are currently losing time and money assuring IL2 services when they could be focused on more strategically important activities.

We’ve worked with government for more than 15 years and continually seek to develop services that help organisations use IT more effectively.
It is good that in a time when effective use of public resources is so important, this accreditation will help our customers deliver more with less.”

The IL2 accreditation builds on Eduserv’s existing ISO 27001 accreditation for Information Security Management.

The company is also seeking pan government accreditation of its IL3 multi-tenant cloud platform as part of a strategic commitment to deliver high quality and cost-effective infrastructure to public sector customers.

Eduserv’s Cloud Compute is a multi-tenant infrastructure platform that includes self-managed and fully managed compute, storage and network connectivity and is available on a contended or non-contended basis.

The platform is hosted and managed from Eduserv’s UK data centres and can provide accredited services over PSN up to IL2 , enabling customers to cost-effectively manage peaks in demand and take advantage of cloud technology for secure off-site hosting or disaster recovery.
