Cloudreach’s Managed Services extend support to Heroku applications

Helps customers maximize the ROI of apps running on Heroku faster.

Cloudreach has launched its new, innovative and highly adaptive managed services offering for applications deployed on Heroku. With the Cloudreach service, customers can extend the Heroku platform and maximise application availability and responsiveness by proactively monitoring application logic, resource usage, overall performance and third party inter-dependencies to safeguard against poor user experience. The new managed service offering for Heroku builds on Cloudreach’s considerable experience of delivering similar offerings for other deployment platforms.

“As the popularity of deploying mission-critical applications in the cloud continues to gain momentum, businesses urgently need support to help manage them,” explains Pontus Noren, director and co-founder, Cloudreach. “Without support, applications can often degrade, or even fail, as a result of a rapidly changing application code base and varying dynamic load. This can lead to lost revenue and damage to the customer’s brand, which our service helps to prevent.”

When A.G. Barr, the UK’s leading soft drinks provider behind brands such as IRN-BRU, needed to reduce administrative inefficiencies for its field-based sales team, it turned to Cloudreach to create and deploy a tailor-made Heroku-based mobile workforce solution. Kenny Craig, Head of IT at A.G. Barr comments: “We were impressed with Cloudreach's flexible approach and the Heroku platform was clearly central to their ability to develop this solution quickly and cost effectively.” Craig adds: “Adding the managed service provided the peace of mind needed for this line of business application.”

“We’re excited to see Cloudreach’s high-availability services on the Heroku platform,” says Nicolas Pujol, VP of business development, Heroku. “Cloudreach customers can now take full advantage of agile application development, Salesforce integration, and 24/7 services while running critical applications in the cloud.”

Cloudreach’s expert team will use its suite of performance monitoring and analytics tools to track application health on a business hours or 24/7 basis from its ITIL/ISO 27001 certified network operations centre in the UK. The service detects issues that are then resolved against a well-defined service level agreement. Furthermore, continuous optimisation of resource usage helps to reduce operational costs whilst maintaining responsiveness. Cloudreach is now making the service available to Heroku application development companies across Europe.
