UPSL introduces PowerWAVE 9500DPA UPS Available up to 3MW

Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited (UPSL), a Kohler company, announces the arrival of the PowerWAVE 9500DPA UPS, the only modular UPS that can be efficiently scaled to 3 MW of clean, reliable power.

Designed for mission critical data centre applications, the PowerWAVE 9500DPA has been specifically engineered for high-power, modular and transformerless UPS requirements. The UPS is built using the latest true online double conversion technology and provides amongst the lowest total cost of ownership and highest energy efficiency credentials in its class.

Delivering the optimal balance between energy efficiency, flexibility and performance, the new PowerWAVE 9500DPA can be scaled vertically in 100 kW modular steps to provide up to 500 kW of power in a single frame. Horizontal scalability is also possible, with up to 6 frames in parallel, to increase total power up to 3 MW. This ability to ‘rightsize’ reduces capital expenditure, optimises operating efficiency and helps reduce total cost of ownership. Equally, the two-dimensional scalability means that there is no need to over specify the original configuration as modules and/or frames can be added to optimise the power requirements and increase/decrease power to meet future requirements.

Commenting on the latest launch David Renton, Managing Director for UPSL said: “The arrival of the PowerWAVE 9500DPA represents a significant step forward in the continuing evolution of modular UPS systems and is yet another industry first for UPSL. Building on the existing and highly successful PowerWAVE 9000DPA format, the PowerWAVE 9500DPA is designed specifically to address the current and ever increasing challenges faced by data centre builders and operators – maximum flexibility, minimum footprint, class-leading energy efficiency, and best-in-class MTTR.”

With 96% true online efficiency, and greater than 99% in Eco mode, the PowerWAVE 9500DPA significantly reduces system running costs and site air conditioning costs. The inclusion of Decentralised Parallel Architecture (DPA) technology also means each UPS module contains all required hardware and software for full system operation further maximizing availability. Easy installation and maintenance are also key features for this three-phase UPS system, with only frontal electrical connections and fully serviceable components throughout.
