Ark appoints Commercial Director

Ark, provider of the UK’s most efficient data centres, announces the appointment of Simon Burrage as Commercial Director.

The news comes during a time of significant development and expansion plans for Ark, following recapitalisation of the business and key additions to the Senior Leadership Team.

Simon’s new role sees him take up responsibility for Ark’s commercial activities.

Simon joins from the internationally renowned law firm, Eversheds, where he was a Principal Associate in the firm’s London Real Estate practice group.

Whilst at Eversheds, Simon specialised in advising on and managing complex projects where significant (and often multi-jurisdictional) corporate, commercial, banking, tax, construction and real estate elements needed to be integrated.

Recently involved in the iconic Shard building at London Bridge (where his team won Real Estate Team of the year in 2012), Greenwich Peninsula (where he advised on estate management) and several projects for the Investors in Ark, Simon was a key figure during the recapitalisation of Ark in July 2012. He had been on secondment to Ark from November 2012 prior to taking up this new post full time.

Upon his appointment, Simon said: “This is an exciting time for Ark and I am delighted to be joining the team as we undertake a number of innovative projects.”

Ark CEO Huw Owen commented: “The experience and skills that Simon brings to Ark as Commercial Director will be instrumental in achieving our aim of taking the business to the next level. We are thrilled to have him on board.”
