Dan Sutherland, CEO at Carrenza, enterprise Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider and HP Cloud Agile partner, says: ”We have been testing the HP Moonshot system for several months and are excited by what the technology promises. Not only is it able to help us make more efficient use of our data centre footprint but it also allows us to put more granularity into our infrastructure, enabling us to support smaller devices more effectively, complementing the investment we have already made in HP BladeSystem.”
Carrenza used HP Moonshot to deliver some of the systems for Red Nose Day 2013, allowing them to get visibility of the system running in production and in tandem with other systems. It was great to see Moonshot in production and integrated into the cloud platform.
In the future, Carrenza sees a lot of potential for the technology, particularly supporting environments that require smaller workloads, such as virtual desktops, providing customers the chance to use the best-fit technology for their workload requirements.
“We believe a combination of HP Moonshot and HP BladeSystem provides the ideal blend of high-performance technology for an IaaS platform, meaning our customers can select the most suitable technology for their workloads,” concludes Sutherland. ”We believe the power energy and cost savings that come from using Moonshot will benefit Carrenza by allowing us to deliver very high levels of service to our customers at the most attractive price-point.”
