Johnson Controls launches European innovation studio tour

Johnson Controls has announced the launch of its travelling Innovation Studio at the MCE – Mostra Convegno Expocomfort 2026 in Milan, Italy. The Innovation Studio tour is intended to present the company’s solutions related to energy efficiency, energy security, and climate outcomes, and to support engagement with customers across Europe’s infrastructure landscape.

The Innovation Studio tour will visit 44 cities, providing an interactive technology showcase to customers, partners, students, and other stakeholders. The initiative is part of efforts to support Europe’s energy security, market development, and regional growth. The showcase presents technologies used in building systems across Europe.

Johnson Controls reports that its data centre cooling technologies have contributed to reductions in energy consumption. Additional examples include a UK manufacturing plant and a UK data centre where efficiency improvements have been recorded. These applications align with EU energy-efficiency and water-conservation objectives and are relevant to operators with sustainability goals.

The tour presents a range of technologies designed to support energy efficiency, cost reduction, and lower carbon emissions. These include:

• The YORK YK-HT two-stage economised centrifugal chiller for industrial applications, designed with a compact footprint.
• The YORK YVAM air-cooled magnetic bearing chiller, intended for use in hyperscale data centres and operating across a wide range of temperatures.
• The AI-enabled OpenBlue platform, which provides monitoring, analytics, and energy management capabilities.
• The Metasys Building Automation System, which integrates HVAC, lighting, fire, and security systems across large campuses and multi-site enterprises.

The showcase also includes demonstrations such as real-world scenarios, 3D visualisations, and hands-on sessions supported by technical staff, demonstrations, and workshops.

Across Europe, Johnson Controls works with a range of environments, including laboratories, universities, and industrial facilities. The company has reported deployments of heat pumps and chillers, with associated energy and emissions reductions. It also works with data centre operators and other large facilities on energy-efficient infrastructure projects.

Johnson Controls operates manufacturing facilities in Denmark, France, and Turkey, supporting a regional production strategy and testing capabilities. The company also maintains service operations across Europe, including in the UK, Spain, Germany, and Italy.
