Digital Realty expands lab network into Asia and Europe

Digital Realty extends its AI infrastructure testing facilities to Singapore, Japan, and London, strengthening AI advancements and hybrid cloud solutions.

Digital Realty is set to expand its lab network, known as DRIL, into three locations: Singapore, Japan, and London. This extends the platform beyond North America into Asia Pacific and Europe. The new facilities will provide real-world testing environments for enterprises looking to validate AI and hybrid cloud deployments.

The labs are designed to support the transition from experimental phases to full-scale production, addressing the growing need for AI-ready infrastructure. Each location has been planned with regional considerations in mind.

In Singapore, the lab will be located within the city’s tech ecosystem, bringing together local and international organisations to test AI solutions.

In Japan, the lab will be situated within Digital Realty's NRT12 data centre near Tokyo. It will feature advanced cooling technologies to support high-density workloads for AI and high-performance computing projects.

In the UK, the London facility will provide an environment for businesses to test AI strategies before broader deployment.

Each lab will support regional technology industries. Singapore’s digital economy, Japan’s investment in semiconductors and AI, and the growth of the UK AI sector highlight the importance of these facilities in supporting enterprise AI deployments.

Digital Realty’s labs integrate technical infrastructure with connectivity solutions. Key features include high-density AI testing capabilities, energy-efficient designs, and hybrid cloud testing through ServiceFabric, allowing enterprises to optimise AI workloads.

The expansion is part of a wider strategy to support digital ecosystems globally. The labs will work with partners including AMD, Cisco, and Lenovo to test and validate AI and hybrid cloud architectures.

This development provides enterprises with secure, low-latency environments across multiple locations, enabling comprehensive testing and validation for AI deployments and digital operations.
