Genetec unveils UK data centre for Security Center SaaS

Genetec launches a UK data centre for Security Center SaaS on Microsoft Azure, enhancing compliance and performance for UK customers.

Genetec an enterprise physical security software provider, has announced that customers can now host its Security Center SaaS platform exclusively within the United Kingdom. The deployment is supported by a data centre hosted on Microsoft Azure and is designed to address demand for improved data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, and flexible deployment options.

The move reflects a growing number of UK and European organisations adopting hybrid or fully cloud-based security solutions. With local privacy regulations and compliance requirements in place, some organisations require their security data to be hosted within UK borders.

The new UK data centre enables sensitive data to be processed and stored within regional boundaries. The addition of the UK expands Genetec’s list of data centre locations, which includes the United States, Canada, Australia, and the Netherlands. It is intended to support compliance and data residency requirements for customers operating in those markets.

Security Center SaaS is described as a unified physical security platform offering functions including access control, video management, and AI-supported investigations. Built on an open platform, it supports integration with existing on-premises systems and provides hybrid architecture options that allow organisations to align deployment with current and future requirements.

As demand for hybrid-cloud solutions continues, the offering provides UK customers with local hosting options aimed at supporting regulatory alignment and deployment flexibility.

With organisations prioritising data security and compliance, the UK-hosted version of Security Center SaaS provides an additional deployment option alongside cloud and on-premises models. Customers can select configurations that fit their operational strategies while maintaining alignment with regulatory obligations.

The UK expansion adds to Genetec’s existing global data centre footprint and reflects continued development of its regional hosting capabilities.
