Pulsant invests £10 million in high-density data facility in Milton Keynes

Pulsant unveils a high-density data centre in Milton Keynes, enhancing UK AI capabilities and infrastructure flexibility.

Pulsant has announced the completion of a £10 million investment in a new high-density data hall located in Milton Keynes. This facility is purpose-built to strengthen the UK's capabilities to support artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced computing.

The new facility expands Pulsant’s platformEDGE network, which aims to provide high-performance, resilient infrastructure nationwide, mitigating the limitations of the congested data centre market in London. Offering 1.2MW of infrastructure capacity, the site is equipped to manage intensive computing tasks integral to AI and machine learning applications.

Situated in the burgeoning Oxford-Cambridge tech supercluster, the site offers proximity to established tech firms and aims to open the doors for US-based companies looking to establish a UK presence. The location, combined with two milliseconds of latency to other key UK markets, positions it as an option for businesses seeking speed and extensive connectivity.

Pulsant's expansion aligns with the UK government’s plans to enhance AI infrastructure. The site’s launch aligns with increased national investment in AI development and reflects the UK’s broader focus on advancing digital technology and innovation.

Pulsant’s COO, Rob Coupland, indicated that the facility’s completion addresses the UK's growing demand for sovereign compute capacity. The project aims to offer alternatives for organisations currently reliant on London-based services, providing better opportunities for scalability and innovation.

In addition to its tech capabilities, Milton Keynes is emerging as a vibrant digital innovation hub, underlined by government and industry investments and strong business networks. Pulsant is ensuring the site is part of a national rollout of their established high-density model, bringing competitive benefits to other significant regions across the UK.

This approach is designed to address current technology sector demands while supporting Pulsant’s role in digital and IT infrastructure development.
