VIRTUS Data Centres welcomes Adam Eaton as CEO

VIRTUS Data Centres appoints Adam Eaton as the new Chief Executive Officer, aiming to strengthen its role as a European data centre operator.

The appointment of Adam Eaton as the new Chief Executive Officer of VIRTUS Data Centres marks an exciting phase for the company. Previously serving as Executive Group Director for Europe at Global Switch, Eaton steps into this role with immediate effect.

VIRTUS, a pure-play data centre owner-operator and part of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), focuses on providing efficient, sustainable data centre solutions.

Fuelled by vision, Eaton's leadership is expected to steer VIRTUS towards expanding its portfolio within the UK and Europe. The company focuses on providing energy-efficient infrastructure to support the growth of the digital economy.

This move comes with significant backing from its shareholders, underscoring the commitment to a sustainable future. Adam's expertise is anticipated to guide VIRTUS through its next growth phase, capitalising on over a decade of robust expansion.

With over 20 years of experience in the data centre, cloud, and managed services sectors, Eaton aims to bring a combination of commercial acumen and operational prowess.

Bruno Lopez, President and Group CEO at STT GDC, has expressed confidence in Eaton's capabilities. He recognises the potential to further leverage Eaton’s skills in stakeholder management as VIRTUS continues its expansion across Europe.

Reflecting on his long-standing connection with VIRTUS, Adam remarked, "Helping VIRTUS scale and support its next phase of growth is an exciting opportunity. I’m privileged to build on the foundations laid by the existing team, embracing one of the most exciting leadership roles in the industry today."

As VIRTUS begins this new chapter, the company continues to develop its presence and operations within the European data centre sector.
