Red Hat expands AI collaboration with NVIDIA

Red Hat, a provider of open source solutions, has announced an expansion in its partnership with NVIDIA to align enterprise technologies with the evolving needs of artificial intelligence (AI). This collaboration demonstrates a shift towards unified, high-density systems, with the introduction of Red Hat Enterprise Linux for NVIDIA. This version of the Linux platform is designed to run on the NVIDIA Rubin platform and to support future production workloads on Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat AI.

NVIDIA’s advancements continue to support AI development, intersecting with the computing stack’s evolution. Red Hat and NVIDIA's alliance aims to deliver immediate support for the latest NVIDIA architectures, providing a foundation for enterprise AI using open source technologies.

According to Red Hat and NVIDIA, the platform offers the following capabilities:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux bridges hardware with sophisticated software ecosystems, serving as the core for Red Hat's extensive hybrid cloud solutions.
• Red Hat OpenShift integrates support for NVIDIA infrastructure software, delivering optimised performance for accelerated workloads.
• Red Hat AI expands support for distributed inference with NVIDIA's open-source models across its platforms including Red Hat AI Inference Server.

With the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux for NVIDIA, Red Hat introduces its latest AI innovations. This release embraces the entirety of NVIDIA's platform advances and maintains full compatibility with its main operating system builds.

The platform is validated for interoperability with NVIDIA’s latest accelerators, providing support for operational consistency and simplifying deployment. Organisations can access NVIDIA drivers through Red Hat repositories, supporting AI infrastructure management while maintaining security standards.
