Revolutionary data centre collaboration for AI advancement in Europe

Vertiv and GreenScale collaborate to deliver pioneering data centre solutions, optimised for AI workloads, across Europe.

Vertiv has joined forces with GreenScale, a prominent developer of hyperscale data centre campuses, to build factory-integrated data centre platforms. This partnership aims to fulfil the next-generation AI workload demands in Europe.

In a highly competitive pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) process, Vertiv was selected by GreenScale as its preferred supplier for standardised, prefabricated Vertiv™ OneCore hybrid-built data centres. GreenScale will oversee the slab-down construction and site-wide infrastructure, while Vertiv will contribute AI-ready data centre modules, specifically designed to support liquid-cooled NVIDIA Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin GPUs.

“AI workloads demand density and speed," remarked Vedran Brzic, VP of infrastructure solutions business EMEA at Vertiv. By harnessing the power of the Vertiv OneCore platform, GreenScale can optimise the integration and deployment of scalable infrastructure to support high-performance computing and high-density operations. Their factory-assembled system promises increased reliability and performance, ensuring efficient deployment for high-density capacity.

The Vertiv OneCore platform is designed to support up to 200+ kW per rack and equips coolant distribution units with a dual-loop liquid cooling system. Supported by Vertiv™ SmartRun overhead prefabricated infrastructure, the platform includes an integrated secondary fluid network (SFN) tailor-made for GPU-intensive architecture and power distribution. These modules are factory-built, pre-tested, and delivered with GreenScale managing comprehensive site services like grid integration and security systems.

Dan Thomas, CEO of GreenScale, shared his vision: "Our collaboration with Vertiv aligns perfectly with GreenScale’s mission to rapidly deploy high efficiency, AI-ready infrastructure across Europe." The standardisation on Vertiv’s prefabricated platforms promises unrivalled speed-to-market opportunities, improved quality control, and operational efficacy. This partnership positions GreenScale to handle demanding AI workloads while determining an ambitious expansion plan across Northern Ireland and the Nordics.

With plans to expand its operations by 120 MW in Northern Ireland and more than 300 MW in the Nordics, GreenScale’s long-term ambition is to reach about 1 GW across Europe. Their progressive high-performance compute model aligns closely with technology providers, ensuring scalable AI-ready solutions are seamlessly delivered.
