Poland’s Atman opens flagship data centre – Shaping the future of data processing in Central Europe

Atman elevates Poland's digital infrastructure with WAW-3, setting a new benchmark for scalable, sustainable data centers in Europe.

Atman, Poland’s leading data centre operator, has launched WAW-3 – the region’s most advanced and sustainable data centre campus, designed to handle the explosive growth of AI workloads and cloud services in Europe. With 14.4 MW IT power and cutting-edge liquid cooling technology, WAW-3 sets a new benchmark for scalable, high-performance infrastructure, establishing Poland as a rising digital leader in Central and Eastern Europe.

Located just outside Warsaw on a 5.5-hectare site, the WAW-3 campus combines strategic logistical advantages with state-of-the-art technological solutions in power supply, cooling, and telecommunications. Designed to meet the needs of highly demanding enterprise customers and public institutions, WAW-3 offers availability, scalability, and reliability in accordance with international standards for quality and security. The first facility on the campus provides 6,324 m² of data hall space and 14.4 MW of IT power capacity. Developed in line with top sustainability principles, it achieves class-leading energy efficiency and uses technical water in a closed-loop system. This is only the beginning. The next stages of development – the construction of second and third buildings – will allow for flexible scaling in response to increasing demand. The entire infrastructure is future-proof by design and ready to handle the challenges of digital transformation and the fast-growing data economy.

“This investment elevates us to a new level as a data centre services provider – not only in Poland, but across the entire CEE region – as evidenced by the trust of the financial institutions backing our project. It marks another step in our expansion within the region’s most business-dense area, further strengthening Warsaw’s position as a key data hub and reinforcing Atman’s reputation as a world-class partner supporting the strategic growth of its customers,” emphasises Slawomir Koszolko, Atman’s CEO.

A European Data Market on the Rise

As of 2025, Europe’s data centre sector is experiencing rapid growth. Operational capacity across the EMEA region has increased by over 20% year-on-year, reaching 10.3 GW, with a further 2.6 GW under construction and 11.5 GW in planning. At the same time, the Polish market is undergoing a significant transformation. Total IT power capacity in the country’s data centres is expected to more than triple, exceeding 500 MW by 2030. Due to limited power availability in mature FLAP-D markets, investor attention is shifting toward emerging second-wave markets, such as Warsaw.

In this context, the WAW-3 campus was designed to meet the evolving infrastructure needs of the European market. It supports digital transformation at scale and provides future-ready, high-performance colocation services. It is the first facility of its kind in Poland in terms of architectural sophistication, capacity, and applied technologies.

“The surge in demand for digital services, coupled with the growing intensity of AI-driven workloads, requires a robust, highly scalable infrastructure with significant computing capacity. The WAW-3 campus is our answer to this challenge – and our advantage. By staying ahead of market trends, we became the first in Poland to deliver a project of this scale and technological advancement,” adds Slawomir Koszolko.

Strategic Infrastructure for a Digital Europe

The development of the data centre is driven by Atman’s mission to provide reliable, continuous access to data – reflecting the “non-stop-data” philosophy. With this investment, the company is introducing high-density colocation with closed-loop liquid cooling to the Warsaw market – a solution ready to host and build AI Factories with the strictest requirements. Consequently, WAW-3 can effectively support the development of IT environments for global enterprises and hyperscale providers.

The WAW-3 campus will eventually comprise three buildings, offering a total colocation space of nearly 19,000 m², 43 MW of IT power capacity, and accommodation for more than 50,000 servers. The future facilities will match the standard of the first building, featuring dedicated security zones and a fully developed logistics infrastructure, including loading docks, storage facilities, and parking areas, to provide customers with end-to-end operational assistance. Continuity of service is maintained by dedicated teams responsible for infrastructure security and technical support. The timeline for subsequent development phases will align closely with the pace of commercial interest, enabling the project to adapt flexibly to market demands.

Sustainable Growth Backed by Strong Financing

The company’s robust financial standing has been recognised by institutions both in Poland and abroad. As a mark of this trust, Atman secured a loan of PLN 1.35 billion (EUR 293.5 million) from a consortium of six financial institutions. Importantly, the loan agreement goes beyond typical financial conditions to include  ambitious commitments to energy efficiency and sustainable development, in accordance with ESG principles. This serves as confirmation that Atman is not only growing dynamically, but also steadfastly implementing a responsible growth strategy which involves the continuous, comprehensive optimisation of energy and water usage.
