Nokia and Supermicro forge partnership for AI-optimized data centre networking

Nokia partners with Supermicro to offer AI-enhanced, high-performance data center solutions, improving scalability and automation.

Nokia has unveiled a strategic collaboration with Supermicro, a prominent entity in the domain of application optimised IT solutions. This partnership aims to empower cloud service providers, enterprises, and communication service providers (CSPs) with cutting-edge, AI-enhanced data centre networking capabilities.

At the heart of this collaboration is the integration of Supermicro's sophisticated switching hardware with Nokia's advanced data centre automation tools and networking operating systems. This merger promises a holistic solution tailored for AI environments, high-performance computing (HPC), and expansive cloud landscapes.

Given the rapid evolution of data centre demands, mainly fuelled by AI and cloud technologies, the need for agile, high-performance architectures has never been greater. The emphasis of this new partnership is on placing networking as the cornerstone of data center infrastructure to boost scalability and automate operations seamlessly.

The integrated offering features Supermicro's 800G Ethernet switching technology coupled with Nokia's Service Router Linux (SR Linux) Network OS and Event-Driven Automation (EDA). This amalgamation aims to automate the lifecycle of data centre networks—from initial design stages (Day 0) to deployment (Day 1) and ongoing maintenance procedures (Day 2+).

End-users stand to benefit from this pre-certified solution, which promises shorter deployment phases, optimised operational expenses, and enhanced efficiency. "This collaboration gives our customers more choice and flexibility in how they build their infrastructure, with the confidence that Nokia's SR Linux and EDA are tightly integrated with our systems," acknowledged Cenly Chen, Chief Growth Officer from Supermicro.

Vach Kompella from Nokia emphasised, "Partnering with Supermicro validates Nokia SR linux and Event-Driven Automation are the right software foundation for today's data centre and IP networks. It also gives us significantly greater reach... aligning with our strategy to expand in cloud, HPC, and AI-driven infrastructure"

Nokia's commitment to aiding cloud architects globally is evident. By implementing robust, automated networks, Nokia is poised to meet rising AI-driven demands. The EDA reduces manual intervention, accelerates response metrics, and ensures scalability with consistent performance. Through proactive resolutions, it also ensures operational reliability and efficacy.
