Perle Systems, a provider of cutting-edge networking hardware, has enabled Gateway Fiber to elevate its service delivery by deploying IOLAN Console Servers. Here, Perle's IOLAN Console Servers set a benchmark with their out-of-band access facility, allowing administrators to manage essential equipment and facilitate quick troubleshooting for uninterrupted service.

In search of a financially viable alternative to traditional equipment, Gateway Fibre's Senior Network Engineer Jeff Shilt explored Perle's solution. “The IOLAN Console Server gives the ultimate back door connectivity,” Shilt states. These servers, with built-in cellular connectivity, stand out as an affordable, efficient choice when using the serial console ports becomes a necessity during disruptions.

With the introduction of IOLAN Console Servers, Gateway Fiber has optimised its maintenance and hardware upgrade operations. Shilt remarks on the convenience offered when accessing equipment through the LTE interface, simplifying firmware updates and assisting field technicians during upgrades, saving time and expenses.
