AIRSYS breaks ground on $40m headquarters

The 260,000+ square-foot facility will blend manufacturing with modern offices, creating 215 new jobs and fueling economic growth in upstate South Carolina.

AIRSYS Cooling Technologies has broken ground on its new AIRSYS Global HQ building in Woodruff, South Carolina. The more than 260,000-square-foot facility will house manufacturing, office, training and product showroom spaces and will be the manufacturing home for more than 20 different AIRSYS products.

The new Global HQ facility represents a $40-million investment and will create more than 215 new jobs in the upstate South Carolina region. AIRSYS is deeply committed to the community and excited about partnering to advance manufacturing and digital infrastructure.

“We selected Woodruff as the site for our new headquarters and manufacturing facility due to its strategic location, strong workforce potential and supportive business environment,” said Paul Quigley, president of AIRSYS. “The City of Woodruff and Spartanburg County have welcomed us with open arms, and the infrastructure grant funding we received played a key role in making this project possible. We’re proud to join other prominent companies in the region in investing in a community that shares our vision for innovation, growth and long-term partnership.”

“We are thrilled to have AIRSYS join our community,” said Kenneth Gist, mayor of Woodruff. “We are excited about the future and what this will bring to our community. Having a global headquarters in our community will provide prosperity for many generations.”

AIRSYS specializes in providing sustainable, advanced, and data-driven cooling solutions for industries such as telecommunications, data centers, semiconductor manufacturing and medical imaging. The company is at the forefront of innovation, particularly in the area of liquid cooling, a critical need driven by the rise of AI technologies.

“Today, we don’t just break ground—we give shape to a dream,” said Yunshui Chen, CEO and founder of AIRSYS. “It’s a dream fueled by bold innovation, shared by a passionate team, and embraced by a community that inspires us every step of the way.”

The new AIRSYS Global HQ facility includes the world’s largest liquid cooling 3D printing factory, which is optimized to help make customized liquid cooling solutions fast and affordable.

“AIRSYS’ new headquarters is designed with innovation and sustainability at its core,” Quigley said. “Our investment in this facility reinforces our company’s long-term vision to lead the industry in scalable, energy-efficient solutions for next-generation digital infrastructure while strengthening our footprint in the American manufacturing landscape.”

In addition to manufacturing, the building features new collaborative training spaces and a dynamic product showroom. As part of the company’s commitment to sustainability, the building was designed around several eco-conscious elements, including LED lighting throughout the facility (accounting for approximately 25% of the building’s energy conversation), a white roof to reduce heat loads, and a 1,000-square-foot butterfly garden. It also features covered, walkable connectivity between buildings, outdoor patios and terraces, and multiple water features.

“Our mission is to create a space that not only encourages biodiversity but also promotes employee well-being and a strong connection to the environment,” Quigley said.
