Airedale by Modine unveils expanded capacities

CDUs are essential for colocation, hyperscale and edge-based data center providers seeking to manage higher-density IT heat loads.

Modine has introduced expanded capacities for its range of coolant distribution units (CDUs) sold under its Airedale by Modine™ brand. The expanded CDU range comes in response to increasing demand for high-performance, high-efficiency hybrid (air & liquid) cooling solutions from the global data center industry.

“We are excited to offer this expanded range in response to customer need. We are seeing increasing interest in our CDUs as providers incorporate provisions for direct-to-chip cooling in their facilities,” said Eric McGinnis, President, Modine Climate Solutions.

The Airedale CDU, launched initially as a 1MW unit, is now available in capacities from 400kW to 2MW as part of a global, standardized range manufactured in the U.S. and Europe. Airedale also announced that delivering even larger capacity units is possible via engineered-to-order, skid-mounted designs.

“Hybrid air and liquid cooling systems are the new normal for the data center industry,” said Art Laszlo, Group Vice President, Global Data Centers at Modine. “As a complete system provider offering air and liquid cooling solutions and intelligent control throughout the thermal chain, Airedale by Modine is expertly positioned to support this transition.”

Airedale by Modine will exhibit on Stand DC155 at Data Center World, Excel London, from March 12 to 13, 2025, and delegates will be able to experience the coolant distribution unit at the booth.
