EfficiencyIT secures Planet Mark Certification

EfficiencyIT achieves Planet Mark certification, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint, measured at 21.6 tCO₂e (1.5 tCO₂e per employee).

EfficiencyIT has revealed its official certification by Planet Mark, a globally recognised sustainability certification organisation. This achievement marks a significant milestone in EfficiencyIT’s ongoing mission to deliver environmentally responsible solutions to its customers and partners across the data centre and IT sectors.

Planet Mark certification highlights EfficiencyIT’s commitment to measuring and reducing its carbon footprint while actively contributing to industry-wide sustainable growth. This partnership reflects shared values of innovation, sustainability, and energy efficiency, and champions collective action to address the climate crisis.

Through Planet Mark’s certification process, EfficiencyIT’s carbon footprint was meticulously measured at 21.6 tCO₂e, equating to 1.5 tCO₂e per employee. This benchmark serves as a foundation for future reduction initiatives, as the company continues to adopt and embrace best practices to minimise energy consumption and transition to 100% certified renewable energy.

Nick Ewing, Managing Director of EfficiencyIT, commented: “Achieving Planet Mark certification is a proud moment for EfficiencyIT. It reinforces our unwavering dedication to sustainability and ensures we remain accountable to

ambitious reduction goals. By partnering with Planet Mark, we are not only reducing our environmental impact but also helping our customers achieve their own sustainability ambitions by reducing Scope 3 emissions via their technology choices and supply chain partners.”

The certification includes access to Planet Mark’s toolkits and resources, empowering EfficiencyIT to continue improving its sustainability strategies. Key initiatives include adopting renewable energy through the REGO-backed clean renewable energy tariff, participating in Planet Mark’s ZeroBy30 Programme, and aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

By becoming part of the Planet Mark community, EfficiencyIT joins forward-thinking organisations worldwide, collectively working towards net-zero carbon by 2030. This milestone not only enhances EfficiencyIT’s environmental credentials but also creates greater value for its customers across the data centre, IT and critical communications sectors - helping them to meet and exceed their sustainability objectives, and ensuring they work with like-minded partners.
