Black & White Engineering boosts European data centre presence with growing Paris office

Black & White (B&W) Engineering, a global leader in MEP engineering design, has announced strong growth of its Paris office, which opened in April this year. The move into the French capital marked a significant milestone in the company’s ambitious growth strategy and continued European expansion.

With over 600 employees and offices in 13 cities spanning Europe, the Middle East and Asia, the Paris base enables the firm to strengthen its presence and data centre design services across Europe. It adds to its established offices in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle and Frankfurt. An office in Milan will also open imminently to continue the European expansion plan.

Since the Paris office opened, B&W Engineering has won several major data centre projects across France. In the last year alone, the company has continued to increase its global headcount and revenues. The organisation’s rapid growth has seen it establish itself as a major player in worldwide data centre design services.

Steven Horn, Managing Director, Europe, B&W Engineering, said: “Our Paris office represents a crucial step in our European expansion plan. France’s dynamic market and strategic location offer us the perfect base to enhance our services and build stronger relationships with our clients and partners. We’re proud to have already seen success in securing major projects in France since the office opened, and we look forward to further growth in the region.”

France's data centre industry is rapidly developing into a pivotal data hub in Europe, fuelled by increased demand for digital services, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. This growth is marked by substantial investments in robust data infrastructure and enhanced connectivity.

Country Manager Michael Mahieu, who leads the Paris office, said: “Since our opening at the beginning of the year, we have taken on several significant data centre projects across France, reinforcing our position in the market. The Paris office allows us to deliver our expertise across the wider region, strengthen relationships with existing and new clients and contribute to the country’s growing data centre market. We’re excited about the possibilities and the potential for growth that Paris offers.”

Over 90% of B&W’s global workforce works within the organisation’s data centre design teams which have successfully executed a diverse range of complex data centre projects ranging from edge facilities to over 1GW campus plans.
