Datum moves to renewable HVO fuel

Datum Datacentres, the business-critical data centre provider, will be transitioning from diesel to renewable HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) fuel for its backup generators at its flagship facility on the Cody Technology Park, Farnborough. Working in partnership with Keysource, the global datacentre and critical environment specialist, this move will enable Datum to reduce up to 90% of net CO2 emissions if its backup generators are used.

During the Dutch National Data Center Day on June 13, Asperitas will open a new showcase location for Immersed Computing at the atom86 (Schuberg Philis) datacenter in the Amsterdam Schiphol airport area.
Immersion cooling specialist Asperitas and Shell will launch Shell Immersion Cooling Fluid S5 X at the Open Compute Project (OCP) Virtual Summit, 12-15 May 2020. Asperitas has also added an additional immersion cooling solution to their current portfolio. The solution is making use of the same natural convection driven circulation concept as the solution introduced to the market in 2017, but with increased IT capacity. The solution is designed to address the demand for high density and performance compute across various markets including hyperscale cloud, enterprise class and telecom.
